Some b***tard walked off with my luggage at an airport carousel. Has anyone else had this happen?

So you give your suitcase to the airline and they present it, on a carousel to anyone who wants it, at the end of the flight. No control at all. Having flown today I’m sure my case was stolen, I saw them do it much to my upset, however at the time I was thinking there must be two similar suitcase on the flight, apparently not they had mine, which is approx £400 in value. I didnt think it was a stealing zone! I think there’s a case for airlines handing back luggage in a more controlled way, if its more than just me who has suffered like this, I aim to present the cases to the media, Watchdog maybe. Any info gratefully received.

Unfortunately, this is not an uncommon occurrence. In fact a Luggage theft ring was recently busted in the Atlanta Airport. I doubt you’ll have any luck getting the airline to compensate you. But good luck. In the future be sure to put a large highly visible marker (such as a luggage strap in a recognizable color) on our luggage so that you may identify it at a distance.
