I want to become a dog trainer, and I specialize in training dogs and puppies for therapy?

I am looking into ABC (Animal Behavior College) to study the formation of the dog. I was wondering if I can specialize in training for therapy dogs and puppies? Is there a demand for that?

I would say that you must first become a coach "normal dog. You need years of experience in order to specialize, as in any other profession. There are many many training methods there and you must choose a better feel for the dogs and yourself. It is the method of correction, "the clicker method "Purely positive" just to name a few. First, you must understand all the different methods and decide who you think is most appropriate. Once you do that, teach dogs of all ages in recent years successfully and specialize. Puppies need training so they never EVER is a final source of students if you are good at what you do. Therapy dogs – rather depends on what you consider a therapy dog. "Do you speak the that nursing homes and hospitals to visit and participate in the "reading to children" programs? If so, any specialized training concerned. Or the dog has the right personality and training in the regular way or that he / she does. My Border Collie is certified St. John Ambulance Therapy Dog here in Canada. All that was needed was "proof" – to the temperament and obedience and response to "unusual" circumstances and noise strong. Temperament can be taught. It is there or not … behavior can change the temperament, but no …. Moreover, most treatment programs Dogs do not "young" and puppies. I think here, the dog must have a minimum of 2 years before testing. This does not fit well with his "puppy" scheme – unless they continue with the older dogs once they are his puppy class. If the therapy dog, do you mean service dogs "for the blind, deaf, physically disabled … is another story. All the various bodies of these dogs need very strict requirements (I guess – I never needed to check) and more than likely need years of proven experience before training these dogs to form special working.
