Medications can cause my dog to have some loss of appetite?

My dog, a retriever 1 year old Golden was endorsed by a car on Wednesday 9 / 20. We brought home from the hospital yesterday and still can not eat. He has not eaten since the accident. He is drinking water. When I brought home, ate a lot of candy. Now .. nothing. The hospital called him back and see nothing physically wrong with him to stop eating. It is said that we must end codeine it could be what it is. It focuses on foods that are not eaten. He has broken ribs and underwent surgery in the pelvic bone. It was morphine, anesthesia, and codeine now. The doctor told us that if we force feed. You have until Friday to "eat something" or it must be taken to the hospital. Any suggestions?
