How do i stop my dog’s aggressive behavior?
I just adopted a male black lab who is about a year old. I dont know anything about his past. He is a very sweet dog, and is really gentle natured. But recently he just started becoming really aggressive whenever i pull on his collar (leading him without a leash).
Please help this is getting pretty bad. Its almost where i cant control him with a leash.
Tonight when i was leading him back to his crate he almost bit me!
PLEASE HELP!
First of all I will never understand why so many people think putting a dog to sleep is the answer to everything. These are the people who should never own an animal.
Grabbing a dogs collar is not the way to get them to do what you want. No dog really likes it. Your dog should be trained to come on command. He may have come from a bad situation yes but I bet he can be trained. Find yourself a trainer. Take him to a class.
He is showing that he is dominant over you and I bet you are a little afraid of him because of your lack of knowing his past. Ceasar Milan is a wonderful example of never showing fear to a dog. They #1 don’t understand it and #2 will protect themselves when they feel threatened. Picture someone coming up to you and grabbing your neck and dragging you around the house. What would your response be. A lot of dog training is common sense. People tend to read into it too much. You will eventually teach him that anytime you go for his collar its a bad thing. When my dogs defy me, I have a rottweiler and a Berner, I restate my command with an authority that tells them. “hey she means business”.
Give him a chance and find a trainer. You are not going to gain confidence with him on your own. He is still young and Labs can be very hyper and strong willed. Good luck with him.

Ethological Studies of Child Behaviour $49.91 This 1972 volume contains specially written reports by research workers in zoology, psychology and psychiatry applying methods of comparative ethology in studies of human behaviour. It is intended as a contrast to popular researches in animal behaviour. There has been a considerable increase in the number of descriptive/analytical studies of human behaviour concerned principally with the behaviour of children and their mothers, and the methods have become widely used. The present collection of papers assesses the value of the methods and clarifies the particular contributions which they may make to an understanding of human behaviour. The papers cover a range of topics familiar from animal studies: nonverbal communication, motherinfant interaction, play and aggressive behaviour, but also range widely into more usual subjects for developmental psychology: crosscultural studies, development of skills, class differences in motherinfant interactions. This is essentially a book for research workers, teachers and students of behavioural sciences. Author: Jones, Nicholas Blurton/ Jones, Blurton/ BlurtonJones, N. G. Youth Crime Automatic Behaviour and Media Violence $45.41 Lately, there is a growing conception that violence in the media determines aggressive behaviour, mainly in children and young adults, due to automatic behaviour. In this paper, I will argue that media violence is not the main predictor of aggressive behaviour. On the contrary, this type of behaviour manifests itself scarcely in relation to media violence and consequent violent behaviour, while other factors are more accountable for young people behaving aggressively. The question that I will try to answer in this paper is: In relation to what can automatic behaviour be perceived as a strong theory? The first part explains what automatic behaviour is, and presents the arguments found in the literature for supporting a theory of enhanced aggressiveness and exposure to violent media. The second part exposes the limitations in media violence literature, and presents arguments for why these studies are not reliable. The third part presents other sociological arguments, in order to create a thorough picture of the most likely predictors of aggressive behaviour, that should be taken into account when matters of causality are discussed. The fourth part proposes an alternative approach to the problem, focusing on research findings, and network theory. The conclusions refer to ideas for further research. Group Behaviour $103.56 Group behaviour in sociology refers to the situations where people interact in large or small groups. The field of group dynamics deals with small groups that may reach consensus and act in a coordinated way. Groups of a large number of people in a given area may act simultaneously to achieve a goal that differs from what individuals would do acting alone (herd behaviour). A large group (a crowd or mob) is likely to show examples of group behaviour when people gathered in a given place and time act in a similar wayfor example, joining a protest or march, participating in a fight or acting patriotically. Special forms of large group behaviour are: crowd hysteria spectators when a group of people gathered together on purpose to participate in an event like theatre play, cinema movie, football match, a concert, etc. public exception to the rule that the group must occupy the same physical place. People watching same channel on television may react in the same way, as they are occupying the same type of place in front of television although they may physically be doing this all over the world. Linguistic Behaviour $76.47 First published in 1976, this book presents a view of language as a matter of systematic communicative behaviour. Professor Bennett discusses the problems involved in topics such as teleology, belief and intention, form and content, meaning, convention, and syntactic structure, whilst underlining the importance of behaviour in both human and nonhuman forms of communication. For the major points of reference in Bennetts discussions, a select bibliography is included, which roots his thesis in a broader corpus of linguistic and philosophical study. This book will be of interest to the student and scholar as well as to the general enthusiast of the philosophy of language. SelfDestructive Behaviour $101.96 High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles In human context, selfdestructive behaviour is a widely used phrase that conceptualises certain kinds of destructive acts as belonging to the self. It also has the property that it characterises certain kinds of selfinflicted acts as destructive. The term comes from objective psychology, wherein all apparent selfinflicted harm or abuse toward oneself is treated as a collection of actions, and therefore as a pattern of behaviour. Acts of selfdestruction may be merely metaphorical ( social suicide ) or literal (suicide). Generally speaking, selfdestructive actions may be deliberate, born of impulse, or developed as a habit. The term however tends to be applied toward selfdestructions that are potentially habitforming or addicting, and are thus potentially fatal. Adaptive Behaviour and Learning $114.71 Adaptive behaviour is of two types only. Either an animal comes equipped by heredity with the ability to identify situations in which a builtin response is appropriate or it has mechanisms allowing it to adapt its behaviour in situations in which the correct response cannot be predicted. Adaptive behaviour of the second type comes about through natural selection, which weeds out individuals that identify situations inaccurately or respond inappropriately. Adaptive behaviour of the second type comes about through the selection of behavioural variants by the environment. This book is about the second type of adaptive behaviour, of which learning is the most highly developed form. Adaptive Behaviour and Learning constitutes a provocative theoretical integration of the psychological and biological approaches to adaptive behaviour. John Staddons ideas will have a major impact on psychologists and zoologists conceptions of the problem of learning. Highly readable, the book will serve as a useful text for courses in learning, animal behaviour and comparative psychology. Author: Staddon, J. E. R. Aggressive Inline Skating $68.51 High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles Aggressive inline skating is an extreme sport, performed on specially designed inline skates with a focus on tricks, stunts and style. The sport mainly consists of a wide variety of grinds, aerial tricks, slides and other advanced skating maneuvers. Participants often refer to the activity as rollerblading, blading or rolling. The sport is divided into vert (vertical), park, and street skating, referring to the environment in which the activity occurs. Different environments lend themselves to different tricks, thus the distinction. Inline skates, skates designed to work like ice skates during periods of warm weather, were invented by Louis Legrange of France in 1849. Legrange designed the skates for an opera where a character was to appear to be skating on ice.
